Indian chemical companies' shares, including SRF, Navin Fluorine, Galaxy Surfactants, and PCBL, are in focus after the US imposed a 26% reciprocal tariff on Indian products, up from 3.5%. Despite higher tariffs on other exporters like China (34%) and the EU (20%), Indian companies saw stock gains: SRF rose 3.3%, Navin Fluorine 1.2%, Galaxy Surfactants 8%, and PCBL surged 21% in a month.
The market rebounded strongly, with Nifty surging 4.26%, its best weekly gain since February 2021. Low VIX indicates calm sentiment, supporting further gains. Sudeep Shah advised buying Axis Bank and PCBL for the short term, however, he is bearish on the Nifty IT index. Bank Nifty also rose over 5%, showing strength.
PCBL's shares plummeted 11% after the company's dismal Q3 earnings, with net profit dropping 37% to Rs 93 crore due to rising operating costs, finance costs, and employee benefits. Revenue grew 21% to Rs 2,010 crore, but EBITDA margin contracted to 16%. Brokerage firm JM Financial lowered its price target by 19% to Rs 500.
